The Sikorscrew Maneuver

Jon Sikorsky, while flying Row 7 left wing on Diamond Quest record attempt number 2, slid in front of the formation when it hit some turbulence. Instead of falling into the center of the formation and causing a dangerous wrap, he corkscrewed his canopy in front of the formation, descending rapidly and did not hit the formation at all. He saved a lot of people and himself from a potentially dangerous situation and definitely some reserve repacks!
